Human Debris

Human Debris are fragments of marble discarded from quarrying, stones recovered along the paths of the Apuan Alps to be brought back to life. My goal is to elevate them from their state of waste, restoring their meaning and dignity. These stones take on semi-human forms to express deep emotions through facial features, which merge with the stone in a sharp contrast between the softness of the lines and the roughness of the raw rock. This material, which preserves all the prestige of Carrara marble intact, is sculpted exclusively with manual tools.
